3 nights in Lagos, Portugal vs 3 nights Split/Hvar, Croatia – which is best for a solo traveller looking for a fun time partying, meeting people, good food and good weather, but ideally NOT a “lads holiday” vibe?

I’ve been recently planning a solo trip for July consisting of Spain + then some Central European / Balkan countries. My original plan was to finish the last leg of the trip either at Split and/or Hvar.

I am looking for a fun party vibe where there is a hostel scene and can meet other people and go out etc. But I’ve read online that Split does have a bit of a “British lads holiday vibe” in the summer, and although I do want to party and have a fun time, being flooded with “British lads on tour” isn’t too ideal.

I’ve also read that Hvar attracts quite a pretentious/affluent crowd. So I’ve been wondering whether I should ditch the idea of Split/Hvar from the end of my trip, and instead start my trip by flying into Portugal and going to Lagos, then move onto Spain, then central Europe.

I read that Lagos is a very fun party town too. But I guess my question is whether Lagos is more fun/enjoyable than Split/Hvar and whether or not it is less of lads holiday destination? Thanks!
