I tried booking a hostel in Berlin, inputted my card info and details, and after I hit submit, I was hit with an error with my transaction. I never received a confirmation email telling me if I am good to go or not, so I have no way of knowing if my spot is reserved or if I need to make a new reservation. However, Hostelworld still charged my card despite them saying there was an error with the transaction!!! Wtf? Has this happened to anyone else? I’m really pissed since there’s only a few rooms left and I don’t know if they’ll respond in time to resolve this. I’m considering reporting the charge as fraud to my bank but I can’t until it’s no longer pending. I called the hostel itself to see if I was in their system but they explained I need to go through Hostelworld.
Has this happened to anyone else, or any tips to resolve?
