UPDATED: 19 days in Montenegro/Bosnia/Croatia in August – Is this too much?

I’ve managed to extend my vacation from work for a week to let the trip breathe a bit more. The first itinerary felt a bit rushed. What do you guys think of this one?

**Aug 16 – Aug 18**
**Kotor**

Explore surrounding areas

**Aug 19-21**
**Žabljak**

Black Lake

Tara Canyon

Rafting Tara River

**Aug 22-25 Sarajevo**

**Aug 26-27 Mostrar**

**Aug 28-29 Dubrovnik**

**Aug 30-Sep 1 Hvar**

**Sep 2-Sep 4 Korčula**

**Sep 5-Sep 6 Split**

**Sep 7-Sep 8 Zadar**

**Sep 9 Plitvice Lakes and Zagreb**

**Sep 10 Fly Home**

This still seems fast, but not overly exhausting. I’m trying to get a healthy mix of culture, nature, dumb touristy party fun, and urban beauty.

Some questions:

1) Has anyone taken the ferry from Dubrovnik to Hvar? Is this something I need to book in advance in Late august? The ferry sounds like a much better option than the Bus.

2) I love the idea of renting a cheap car but the logistics seem complicated and expensive for border crossings. Ideally I’d love to rent a car somewhere in Montenegro and drive up to Sarajevo and drop off in Dubrovnik. Anyone have experience with this?
